As well as gaining the benefit of studying with an English university or college, in the UK or overseas, international students make an invaluable contribution to our higher education, culture and economy. Though we have data about these students’ numbers and demographics, too little is known about their unique experiences and needs, and the best ways for universities to support them.

Call for evidence

We explore how the targets for an additional 75 higher education providers with access and participation plans, together with additional historical student data, affected the ambition and likely progress at a sector level in addressing four of the OfS key performance measures.

The OfS’s regulatory framework defines the ‘sector-recognised standards’ that have been adopted in relation to those conditions of registration that relate in whole or in part to the standards applied to higher education.

On 25 February 2022 we wrote to providers regarding student hardship funding allocations for 2020-21. This letter sought assurance, by 25 March 2022, about how providers have used student hardship funding allocations announced in April 2021.
