OfS research finds over eight in ten students are satisfied with their accommodation

Independent research published by the OfS finds that undergraduate students in their first year of university or college are largely positive about their accommodation. It suggests that accommodation costs were a significant factor in deciding where to study for most students, and that students’ experiences of accommodation play a critical role in shaping their overall higher education experience.

Explorations: Student experiences of accommodation – Research report

IFF conducted research for the Office for Students with first-year university and college students living in rented accommodation in England. The research explores their decision making around accommodation options, their engagement with and understanding of accommodation contracts, their satisfaction with their accommodation, and any issues they have faced.

New data from the OfS finds that, while the number of individual potential radicalisation cases managed by institutions overall has declined slightly, formal referrals to Prevent have increased by nearly 50 per cent.

Sexual misconduct survey 2025: Analysis of student groups and study contexts

This publication sits alongside the Office for Students (OfS) sexual misconduct survey 2025. We are publishing this further analysis to show how experiences vary across different student groups and study contexts (for example, by subject, level of study, study location, domicile, provider type, disability type and other characteristics).

Evaluation of the sexual misconduct survey 2025

This document evaluates the survey’s design and implementation following the pilot in 2023. In doing so, it offers reflections on its strengths and limitations, and highlights areas where future surveys might be further developed.
