Arrangements for the distribution by the OfS of capital grant for 2026-27

This document set out how we intend to distribute the capital grant available to the OfS for the financial year (April to March) 2026-27 and the process for bidding for funding for the competitive scheme.

The deadline for submitting capital bids to us is 4 September 2026.

The government has provided £88 million capital funding for this financial year. We intend to distribute this funding in three ways:

• £76.75 million for a bidding competition to support capital projects
• £7.75 million for formula funding allocations, for those providers that are unsuccessful in or do not bid for funding through the competition
• £3.5 million for Jisc, to support the network services it provides.

Providers that wish to bid for funding should download and complete the template on this webpage. The completed templates should be submitted via our portal by 4 September 2026. The portal will open for submissions on 18 August, but providers can start using the template now.
