How we regulate quality and standards

We have a large pool of academic assessors who provide us with the expert academic judgement we need to assess the quality and standards of individual universities and colleges.

Our pool of assessors is drawn from a broad range of providers and has very varied subject specialist expertise. It includes staff at various stages in their higher education careers, including several current or former pro-vice-chancellors, deans and heads of school.

We draw a team from our pool of assessors when we need a quality and standards assessment for any of our areas of assessment.

We have a separate pool of assessors to assess the quality of higher and degree apprenticeships.
