In May 2022, as a result of our general monitoring, we opened an investigation into the quality of business and management courses provided by Buckinghamshire New University.
We appointed an assessment team in October 2022 to provide expert advice and judgements about the quality of the university’s business and management courses.
The assessment team did not identify any concerns from its review of information relating to condition B4: Assessment and awards.
The assessment team identified two concerns relating to condition B2: Resources, support and student engagement and three concerns relating to condition B1: Academic experience. Following consideration of the quality assessment report, the OfS found that the university had breached condition B2.
We have considered the actions that the university has taken in response to the concerns identified in the quality assessment report, and in response to the subsequent finding that the university had breached condition B2. The OfS found that these actions will be effective in remedying the breach, and therefore decided to close this investigation with no further regulatory action.
