The Office for Students (OfS) has announced an investigation into Irshad Trust, which trades under the name The Islamic College.
The OfS has opened an investigation after identifying concerns relating to Irshad Trust’s compliance with the E conditions of registration which relates to management and governance.
The investigation will examine whether Irshad Trust has effective management and governance arrangements in place, including to deliver in practice public interest governance principles that apply to the provider.
The opening of the investigation means that the OfS has identified potential concerns that require further scrutiny. The decision to open an investigation does not mean that any form of non-compliance or wrongdoing has taken place.
