Join us for our first student debrief of the 2026-27 academic year to help us shape the OfS statement of expectations on disability.
We are developing a new statement of expectations in relation to disability. This will set out what we expect of universities and colleges to ensure that disabled students can access, participate and achieve good outcomes in higher education.
Over the past few months, we have held workshops with student representatives, higher education staff, senior leaders, practitioners and disability experts. These discussions have helped us understand more about the challenges disabled students face and what universities and colleges could do to address them.
This debrief will share what we have heard so far, and invite you to tell us whether it reflects your experiences and priorities.
We will ask for your views on:
- what you think minimum expectations for universities and colleges should look like
- what would make the greatest difference to disabled students
- what we should consider when setting these expectations.
You will also have time to ask questions and hear about next steps for this work.
