OfS future approach to regulating quality: have your say

Join us for an explanation of our proposals for changes to how we regulate the quality of higher education of providers registered with us, and share your views on our proposals.

OfS future approach to regulating quality: have your say

We’re hosting a series of events to help you read, engage with and give feedback on our proposed changes to how we regulate quality in higher education.

We're proposing to establish an integrated approach that builds on the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), which creates incentives for all institutions to continue to improve, and provides students with a clear view of student outcomes and the student experience for all registered universities and colleges.

Events to find out more about our proposals

In the first set of sessions, we will provide information to help you read and engage with our proposals. We will:

  • outline the proposed changes, including the incentives and interventions we will introduce to support universities and colleges to improve quality for students
  • share how the proposed changes will ensure all universities and colleges deliver high quality courses and outcomes to students, and how we will coordinate our assessment activities to identify where quality falls short.

We will give a short presentation about the proposed system. We will then invite attendees to ask questions, and answer pre-submitted questions.

Who should attend?

We are interested in hearing from students and their representatives, staff, academics and leaders at higher education providers.

We are holding three targeted briefings for:

  • students and their representatives
  • staff at universities, specialist providers and colleges that have participated in the TEF
  • staff at universities, specialist providers and colleges that have not previously participated in the TEF.

Please do not register for more than one session.

Events to give your feedback on our proposals

This series of events is aimed at student representatives and staff at universities and colleges to give their views on our proposals for our future quality assessment system.

We’re hosting an in-person event and webinars for attendees to have open, interactive discussions about our proposed changes. You will find out more about our proposals and the thinking that lies behind them. We will give a short presentation and will then invite you to share your views and ask questions. Your feedback will inform the development of our final proposals.

In-person event

This event is open to senior staff/provider representatives at higher education institutions across the country.

Senior staff should also encourage student representatives to register and attend (e.g. a member of a students’ union).

We’re keen to have a representative mix of higher education providers at this event to seek views from across the sector. Please register your interest in attending the event below by Friday 24 October, and we will then confirm whether you have been invited to attend.
