Conduct between providers and the OfS

The vast majority of our interactions with colleagues in the sector are professional and courteous. This statement of expectations is targeted at those rare instances where this is not the case.

The safety of our staff and those who represent us is very important to us. All our colleagues have the right to work in a safe and civil environment.

We will treat you with courtesy and respect and engage with you in a professional manner which is not rude or aggressive. In return we ask that you treat us in the same way. On the rare occasions when that doesn’t happen we may pause or cancel a meeting, invite senior colleagues to join or restrict contact with you.

Behaviour towards us which is unlawful – including unlawful threats, intimidation, discrimination, harassment or physical assault – will not be tolerated. If there are reports of any such behaviour, we will investigate this. We may take action as described above and we may report to the police. We also ask that you take action if your staff behave unacceptably towards us.

If you have concerns about the behaviour of our staff you can submit a complaint.
