We recently consulted on proposals for the future TEF and will publish our decisions about those proposals in due course.
Please note that the information on this page is indicative only, and subject to any final decisions we make once we have fully considered responses received to the consultation.
We are inviting panel member applications at this stage to allow sufficient time to recruit and prepare members before any assessments begin.
Previous TEF awards were judged by an independent panel of students, academics and other experts.
The OfS recently consulted on proposals for a new TEF.
Under the proposals, a panel of experts including academic and student members would carry out the assessments and decide what ratings to award each university and college.
Apply to join the TEF panel
We are now recruiting academics and student representatives to join the TEF panel.
This includes recruiting two deputy chairs (one academic and one student) to assist the chair, Professor Sir Chris Husbands, throughout the assessment process.
We aim to recruit a panel that has a wide range of expertise in relation to diverse higher education provision. We also want to appoint a panel from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of the students whose experience and outcomes it would be assessing.
Applications to join the TEF panel must be submitted by 1700 on 15 July 2022. Appointments will be made in autumn 2022.
