The Office for Students (OfS) has launched a consultation on University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) proposal to change its name to University of Lancashire.
The university has stated that the proposed name is a more accurate reflection of its geographical presence, and the term ‘Central Lancashire’ has little current relevance or meaning.
The OfS is keen to hear from students and their representatives, universities, colleges and others on the proposed new name.
The deadline to respond to the consultation is 22 February 2024.
