Get the TEF data
The Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) data dashboard supports institutions to make improvements to students' experiences and outcomes.
The data is also available in a tabular format as CSV files.
The data and dashboard have official statistics in development status because we have changed some of the presentation and are actively seeking user feedback.

Data on postgraduate study outcomes is not available in the TEF dashboard. An additional csv file is provided with this data.

Data protection
For data protection purposes, we have applied a comprehensive set of rounding and suppression criteria.
Anyone wishing to use the data must follow the guidelines for appropriate use.
Data quality
There are additional risks to data quality in some areas of the 2022-23 returns, but in general we consider the data is fit for purpose and facilitates robust measures of student outcomes and experiences.
There is a known issue with the data with the earnings measure data for providers who previously submitted to the HESA Student Alternative record. Relevant qualifiers from this record are missing from our earnings population and not included in the earnings measure data published on 5 November 2026. We are also aware with an issue in the contribution to benchmark figures for the subcontracting and validating populations. We will seek to resolve these and update the data dashboard during the consultation period.

05 November 2026 - Updated with the latest data, to support the current consultation on a revised approach to assessing and rating quality.
24 February 2026 - We have found an error in the calculation of benchmarks for Student Experience in the TEF, and have recalculated these. They are now generally more in line with benchmarks from 2024.
05 February 2026 - The data has been updated after an error was identified in the calculation of the standard error for the difference from benchmark estimates. This led to the estimates being too low in the previous version of this release.
19 January 2026 - We have updated the datafiles to suppress sector level benchmarks.
15 January 2026 - Published Excel workbooks.
19 December 2025 - We have updated the data files, as the following columns were missing for the 'level' split of the data: AVG_CONTR_BENCHMARK, MATERIALLY_BELOW_BENCH, INLINE_WITH_BENCH, MATERIALLY_ABOVE_BENCH
17 December 2025 - Updated with the latest datafiles.

20 May 2024 - Removed unnecessary files from zipped folders.
05 January 2024 - Updated to include a provider that was registered by the OfS after September 2022 and participated in TEF 2023.
