Regulatory advice 10: Accountable officers. Guidance for providers on the responsibilities of accountable officers

This regulatory advice sets out the responsibilities of a higher education provider’s accountable officer under the Office for Students’ (OfS's) regulatory framework and to the Department for Education. The accountable officer is a person, normally the head of the provider, who reports to the OfS on behalf of the provider (and, for providers with specific course designation, the accountable officer is the head of the legal entity in receipt of designation).
