Protecting students if a course, campus or university closes

How the OfS protects students

Any university or college registered with the Office for Students needs to have measures in place to protect students’ interests.

1. Complaints

Making sure that universities and colleges registered with us have a process in place for students to raise a complaint.

2. Consumer protection

Making sure that the universities and colleges that register with us consider their responsibilities under consumer protection law.

3. Student protection plans

Making sure that the university or college has a plan in place to protect students to continue and complete their courses, if there is any risk that their course, campus or the university as a whole closes.
