TRAC data for 2017-18 was collected by the Office for Students on behalf of UK Research and Innovation, the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and the Department for the Economy (Northern Ireland). These bodies are co‑owners of the data.

Annual TRAC 2017-18: Sector summary and analysis by TRAC peer group provides analysis of costs, and income by activity categories: publicly funded teaching; non-publicly funded teaching; research and other (income generating activities) and other (non-commercial activities). Research income and costs are also analysed by research sponsor category.

The report also gives an analysis of the data by TRAC peer group and a summary of sector data from higher education institutions across the UK.
