Accessibility statement for the Uni Connect website

This is an accessibility statement for the Uni Connect website. It applies to all content available from the www.officeforstudents.org.uk/uniconnect/ domain.

This website is run by the Office for Students. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

  • A button is missing in a form used in the cookie banner. This fails WCAG 2.1A 3.2.2 On Input.
  • A button in the cookie banner does not highlight on focus. This fails This fails WCAG 2.1AA 2.4.7 Focus Visible.
  • HTML is used to format content for the embedded You Tube videos on the website. This fails WCAG 2.1A 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
  • The colour contrast for some variations of the footer links is insufficient. This fails WCAG 2.1AA 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum).

The Office for Students is planning a website upgrade for the Uni Connect microsite and will address all the issues above by January 2021.
