Teacher training

Teacher development programmes delivered by Uni Connect partnerships support teachers to increase their knowledge of post-16 options and the local labour market, and enable them to support pupils with their UCAS applications.

What is it?

  • Activities to improve staff knowledge of higher education, the range of available options and the UCAS application process.
  • Can be face-to-face or online.
  • Can be delivered through networks, meetings, focus groups, conferences or training materials.
  • May also include events on widening participation research and practice.

What are the benefits?

Teacher training programmes help teachers integrate information about routes to higher education into their work.

They ensure teachers have access to a range of resources and are well equipped to help learners and answer their questions.

Development activities are designed to improve teachers’ confidence to support learners in their university or college applications.
