This page lists significant changes to the OfS Register and provides a timeline of our regulatory activities in relation to individual higher education providers.

Each monthly bulletin summarises published activity in the preceding calendar month, including:

  • registration of providers

  • deregistration of providers

  • investigations, interventions and enforcement action.

You can find current information about any particular registered higher education provider on the OfS Register.

February 2024

  • College of Dentistry Limited was added to the register.

December 2023

  • Bexhill College voluntarily deregistered.

November 2023

  • Southampton City College voluntarily deregistered.
  • A change of registration category from Approved to Approved (fee cap) was added to the Register for INTO University Partnerships Ltd.

October 2023

  • A change of registration category from Approved to Approved (fee cap) was added to the Register for Caspian School of Academics Ltd.

September 2023

  • The OfS made a full taught degree awarding powers order for Hult International Business School Ltd for a time-limited period beginning on 1 October 2023 and expiring on 1 January 2027.
  • Central Bedfordshire College was removed from the Register following a merger with Bedford College Group.
  • The Office for Students approved the use of the word ‘university’ in the provider’s change of name from ‘Newman University’ to ‘Birmingham Newman University’.
  • The outcomes of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023 were published.

August 2023

  • The OfS made a new taught degree awarding powers order for the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering for a probationary period beginning on 1 September 2023 and expiring on 30 November 2026.
  • Liverpool Media Academy Limited was added to the Register
  • Numerica Risk Management and Consulting Ltd was added to the Register

July 2023

  • The OfS has varied the DAPs Order for The London Interdisciplinary School by authorising the provider to grant the following specified awards in addition to those already set out on the Order:
    • Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods (MASc)
    • Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods (PGCert)
    • Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods (PGDip)

This variation takes effect from 26 September 2023.

  • The OfS made a new degree awarding powers order for S P Jain London School of Management Limited for a probationary period beginning on 1 September 2023 and expiring on 30 November 2026.
  • Fairfield School of Business was added to the Register.
  • Birmingham Christian College was added to the Register.
  • Anglo Skills College Limited was added to the Register with specific ongoing conditions applied.
  • Higher Rhythm Limited was added to the Register with specific ongoing conditions applied.
  • The OfS imposed a monetary penalty of £1,000 on Raindance Educational Services Limited as a result of it breaching ongoing condition of registration F3.

June 2023

  • Newham College of Further Education was added to the Register.
  • Caspian School of Academics was added to the Register.

May 2023

  • Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts Ltd was added to the Register.
  • UK Business College Ltd was added to the Register.
  • Stratford College London was added to the Register.

April 2023

  • LIBF was added to the Register.
  • London Institute of Banking & Finance was removed from the Register as the business and provision has been transferred to a new entity.
  • Richmond upon Thames College was removed from the Register as the provider has merged with another registered provider.
  • A variation was made to the degree awarding powers order for NCG to remove the time-limit with effect from 1 June 2023.

March 2023

  • Commonwealth College of Excellence was added to the Register.
  • London College of Business Studies was added to the Register.

February 2023

  • International Business College Manchester was added to the Register.
  • London School of Science and Technology was added to the Register.
  • Stageworks Productions Limited was added to the Register.
  • A change of registration category from Approved to Approved (fee cap) was added to the Register for David Game College Ltd.

January 2023

  • Hadlow College was removed from the Register as it is no longer an English higher education provider as defined in section 83 of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 (HERA). 
  • PHBS-UK was added to the Register.

December 2022

  • S P Jain London School of Management Limited was added to the Register.
  • The OfS imposed a monetary penalty of £37,231 on The University of Buckingham as a result of it breaching ongoing condition of registration F3. 

November 2022

  • The OfS has varied the degree awarding powers order for Hull College by extending the time limit until 31 March 2026. This variation takes effect from 1 January 2023.
  • The OfS has awarded taught degree awarding powers to the National Film and Television School to take effect from 1 January 2023.

October 2022

  • Greater Brighton Metropolitan College voluntarily deregistered following merger with another provider.

September 2022

  • Inspire Education Group voluntarily deregistered.
  • New College Stamford voluntarily deregistered due to a merger with another provider.
  • University for the Creative Arts was awarded research degree awarding powers.
  • The OfS has varied the degree awarding powers order for Blackpool and Fylde College by removing the time limit and extend the level. This variation takes effect from 13 September 2022.
  • London School of Economics and Political Science's entry on the Register updated to reflect the provider gaining the right to use 'university’ in its name as authorised by or by virtue of an Act of Parliament.
  • St. George's Hospital Medical School's entry on the Register updated to reflect the provider gaining the right to use 'university’ in its name as authorised by or by virtue of an Act of Parliament.

August 2022

  • The following providers voluntarily deregistered:
    • Easton and Otley College
    • West Nottinghamshire College
    • Havering College of Further and Higher Education.
  • A new degree awarding powers order was made for The London Interdisciplinary School Ltd for a probationary period from 26 September 2022 to 31 December 2024.
  • A new degree awarding powers order was made for Multiverse Group Limited for a probationary period beginning on 1 September 2022 and expiring on 1 December 2025.

July 2022

  • Multiverse Group Limited was added to the Register.
  • Assemblies of God Incorporated category of registration changed from Approved to Approved (fee cap).
  • NCH at Northeastern Ltd awarded university title to become Northeastern University – London.
  • BIMM Limited awarded university title to become BIMM University Limited.
  • St. Mary's College voluntarily deregistered with effect from 31 July 2022.
  • The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama voluntarily deregistered with effect from 31 July 2022 following the registration of its constituent institutions:
    • Central School of Ballet Charitable Trust
    • National Centre for Circus Arts
    • Contemporary Dance Trust
    • Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance
    • Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
  • A variation was made to the degree awarding powers order for University College of Estate Management to remove the time-limit with effect from 1 September 2022.

June 2022

  • Selby College voluntarily deregistered due to a merger with another provider.
  • Spurgeon's College received New Taught degree awarding powers.
  • Five providers were added to the Register:
    • Central School of Ballet Charitable Trust
    • National Centre for Circus Arts
    • Contemporary Dance Trust
    • Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance
    • Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

May 2022

  • East Riding College removed from the Register due to merger with another provider.
  • Kensington and Chelsea College removed from the Register due to merger with another provider.
  • Swindon College removed from the Register due to merger with another provider.
  • Matrix College of Counselling and Psychotherapy Ltd change of registration category from Approved to Approved (fee cap).
  • Arts University Plymouth’s entry on the Register updated to reflect the provider gaining the right to use 'university’ in its name as authorised by or by virtue of an Act of Parliament.

April 2022

  • Osteopathic Education and Research Limited was removed from the Register due to merger with another provider.

March 2022

  • Ruskin College was removed from the Register due to merger with another provider.
  • St Nicholas Montessori Training Ltd voluntarily deregistered.
  • Stephenson college was removed from the Register due to merger with another provider.
  • Paris Dauphine International was added to the Register.
  • Askham Bryan College Foundation received degree awarding powers.

February 2022

  • London Churchill College Ltd was added to the Register with specific conditions.

December 2021

  • Waltham International College Limited has been added to the OfS Register.
  • The OfS made a new degree awarding powers Order for the College of Legal Practice Limited for a fixed term beginning on 1 February 2022 and expiring on 30 April 2025.

November 2021

  • The OfS made a full taught degree awarding powers Order for ICMP Management Limited for a time-limited period beginning on 1 September 2022 and expiring on 30 November 2025.
  • Christie's Education Limited will be deregistered from the published Register after 31 December 2021.
  • The OfS varied the degree awarding powers Order for Hull College Group to extend the time limit for a period of one year, to 31 December 2022.
  • The OfS varied the degree awarding powers Order for The London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) to remove the time limit on the Order.

October 2021

  • One provider was added to the published Register.

September 2021

  • The Kingham Hill Trust was deregistered after applying to leave the OfS Register.

August 2021

  • Berkshire College of Agriculture was deregistered after applying to leave the OfS Register.
  • The OfS varied the taught degree awarding powers Order for The Ashridge (Bonar Law Memorial) Trust to remove the time limit on the Order.

July 2021

  • Itchen College was deregistered after applying to leave the OfS Register.
  • Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College was deregistered after applying to leave the OfS Register.
  • Sandwell College was deregistered after applying to leave the OfS Register.
  • The OfS made a new degree awarding powers Order for TEDI-London for a time-limited period beginning on 1 September 2021 and expiring on 30 November 2024.

June 2021

  • Two providers were added to the published Register.

May 2021

  • One provider was added to the published Register.
  • The OfS made a full taught degree awarding powers Order for Lamda Limited for a time-limited period beginning on 1 August 2021 and expiring on 31 October 2024.

April 2021

  • The OfS varied the taught degree awarding powers Order for Arden University Limited to remove the time limit on the Order.
  • The OfS varied the degree awarding powers Order for TEC Partnership to:
    • extend the time limit on its foundation degree awarding powers Order until 31 October 2024
    • extend the level of powers to authorise TEC Partnership to grant awards up to and including Bachelor’s degrees for a time-limited period commencing on 1 August 2021 and expiring on 31 October 2024.
  • The OfS varied the degree awarding powers Order for Warwickshire College to:
    • remove the time limit on its foundation degree awarding powers Order
    • extend the level of powers to authorise Warwickshire College to grant awards up to and including Bachelor’s degrees for a time-limited period commencing on 1 September 2021 and expiring on 31 December 2024.

  • The OfS made a New Degree Awarding Powers Order for The London Interdisciplinary School Ltd for a fixed period beginning on 27 September 2021 and expiring on 31 December 2024.

November 2020

  • The OfS made a New Degree Awarding Powers Order for Dyson Technical Training Limited for a fixed period beginning on 1 September 2021 and expiring on 30 November 2024.

October 2020

  • Six providers were added to the published Register
  • Bloomsbury Institute Limited has two specific ongoing conditions of registration imposed in relation to Condition B3 (quality and standards).

September 2020

  • Three providers were added to the published Register
  • The OfS issued a time-limited degree awarding powers order to Regent’s University London Limited for the period 29 September 2020 to 31 August 2024.

August 2020

  • Seven providers were added to the published Register
  • The OfS varied the degree awarding powers order for BPP University Limited to remove the time-limit on the order
  • The OfS varied the degree awarding powers order for Warwickshire College, to extend it for a period of one year, to 31 August 2021
  • The OfS varied the degree awarding powers order for The Ashridge (Bonar Law Memorial) Trust, to extend it for a period of one year, to 31 August 2021
