Outcomes performance measures

Strategic objective 3:

‘All students, from all backgrounds, are able to progress into employment, further study, and fulfilling lives, and their qualifications hold their value over time.’

We have three strategic outcomes under this strategic objective, and four key performance measures (KPMs) to help us demonstrate progress against them.

15. Graduates in highly skilled or professional roles

In development:

We expect to specify this measure during Autumn 2019

This measure will use data from the Graduate Outcomes Survey to show the percentage of graduates in highly skilled or professional roles.

It will assume that these graduates are using the knowledge and skills they acquired in higher education.

16. Employers that think graduates are equipped with the right skills and knowledge

In development:

We expect to specify this measure during Autumn 2019

This measure will act as a proxy for how far graduates are meeting the demand for knowledge and skills among employers.

17. Graduate wellbeing

In development:

We expect to specify this measure during Autumn 2019

We want to track the extent to which higher education enriches students’ lives after they’ve left.

This measure will be developed to use questions from the Office for National Statistics' Annual Population Survey. This will allow us to compare the wellbeing of graduates with the rest of the population, and so see if there is a link between higher education and wellbeing.

18. Students achieving 1sts

27%

Proportion in 2016-17

We will publish a target for this measure next year

The proportion of 1sts awarded has been increasing at a rate of 2 percentage points since 2010-11
