Outcomes performance measures
We have recently published our strategy for 2022-25, and are now reviewing our key performance measures to make sure they are appropriate for this new strategy.
Strategic objective 3:
‘All students, from all backgrounds, are able to progress into employment, further study, and fulfilling lives, and their qualifications hold their value over time.’
We have three strategic outcomes under this strategic objective, and four key performance measures (KPMs) to help us demonstrate progress against them.
Strategic outcome: graduates and postgraduates leave with the knowledge and skills that will contribute to their national and local economies and communities, and drive productivity.
15. Graduates in highly skilled or professional roles
Under review
We have recently published our strategy for 2022-25, and are reviewing this key performance measure to make sure it is appropriate.
This measure will use data from the Graduate Outcomes Survey to show the percentage of graduates in highly skilled or professional roles.
It will assume that these graduates are using the knowledge and skills they acquired in higher education.
16. Employers think that graduates are equipped with the right skills and knowledge
Most Institute of Student Employer respondents and nearly two-thirds of YouGov respondents are able to recruit the quality of graduates they want
Strategic outcome: Students’ lives are improved and enriched by their time in higher education.
17. Graduate wellbeing
Graduates completing their courses in 2018-19 were less likely to score very highly for 'life satisfaction' and 'the sense that things done in life are worthwhile' than their counterparts who graduated in 2017-18
Strategic outcome: Qualifications hold their value over time, and students are able to use them long after leaving higher education.
18. Students achieving 1sts
37.7%
Proportion in 2020-21
We are considering target setting as part of our review of our key performance measures
The proportion of 1sts awarded increased between 2019-20 and 2020-21 from 35.9% to 37.7%
