We have recently published our strategy for 2022-25, and are now reviewing our key performance measures to make sure they are appropriate for this new strategy.
Key performance measure 22
The extent to which staff understand and feel they contribute towards the OfS’s strategic objectives
positive response to questions in relation to ‘organisational objectives and purpose’ in April 2021.
In April 2020, there was also 78 per cent positive response to questions in relation to ‘organisational objectives and purpose’.
What does this show?
From 2020, the OfS has carried out an annual staff engagement survey. These have mirrored the Civil Service People Survey, allowing for direct comparison with other government organisations.
A high proportion of positive responses to this question would indicate a high level of engagement with the objectives and strategy of the organisation. This would suggest that the strategy is clear and staff are engaged with the organisation’s direction.
The score for this measure has stayed the same between 2020 and 2021. The level is relatively high compared to other Civil Service organisations. This shows OfS staff have a high level of engagement with the organisation’s objectives and purpose.
We are working internally to improve staff engagement and will continue to monitor our progress using this measure.
