The university states the proposed new name is a more accurate reflection of the composition of its student population and the geographical location of the stakeholders it seeks to serve as its charitable beneficiaries.

The OfS is keen to hear from students and their representatives, universities, colleges, and others on the proposed new name.

The deadline to respond to the consultation is 2 May 2024.
